Outreach

Mission and Goals

Striving always to live out the gospel imperative to love our neighbor as ourselves, and remembering that “from everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required” (Luke12:48), the Outreach Committee of Trinity Episcopal Church is called to serve God through our ministry of caring for others in the world.

  • Being guided by our mission statement, and keeping in mind that we should respond to the needs of the moment, the Outreach Committee will allocate approximately 50 percent of our resources to local needs, 25 percent to national needs, and 25 percent to global needs.
  • We are particularly focused on working toward alleviating poverty, hunger, and disease, caring for the welfare of women and children, and being responsible environmental stewards.

Our Work

The Outreach Committee oversees the disbursement of funds designated in the annual budget for Outreach. In the last year we have supported the work of Episcopal Relief and Development, the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem, theological education in the Episcopal Church, and  programs to provide heating assistance and after-school programs for youth; we provided school supplies and clothes for children beginning a new school year,we sponsored two families at Christmas time, ensuring that all family members received gifts, and we collected diapers for a local Diaper Bank.
